Nice to Meet You
I’m Frank, and I create vintage tube clocks. I design and hand-build them using original Soviet-era IV-11 and IV-6 VFD tubes brought back to life. Every clock is crafted by hand in my self-converted Volkswagen van studio powered by solar energy.
In a fast-paced, disposable world, I believe in slowing down and making things that last. My clocks are built to be timeless. In a permanently connected world, they are 100% offline,
I travel across Europe in my van from the Swiss Alps to the Norwegian fjords down to the coastline of Spain - designing, prototyping and soldering on the road. My van is more than just a home, it’s a fully solar-powered mobile lab where I tinker with electronics, firmware and design.
Whenever I dive into a fun DIY electronics project, I share what I learn on my blog. All of my software is open source and you’re encouraged to remix them.
